A Sweet Smelling Office with the GuruNanda Natural Mist Diffuser

I always like the idea of diffusers that fill a room with lovely essential oil scents. Years ago I tried one some kind of glass bottle diffuser with wicks in it, but it wasn’t strong enough for me to notice. However, a new generation of USB diffusers are now on the market. So when GuruNanda offered to send me its new GuruNanda Natural Mist USB plug-in wall diffuser for review, I was happy to try it out.

A diffuser is a natural product line extension for GuruNanda, maker of wonderful smelling essential oils. The package they sent me included the diffuser and two bottles of essential oil – orange and lavender.

How it works

The diffuser is lightweight and plastic. You can plug it directly into a USB port or use the wall adapter. It’s very simple to use. You just unscrew the lid of the bottle of oil, pull out the plastic plug that prevents the oil from coming out more than a drop at a time (this was the hardest part for me, since my nails are soft. I had to use a dinner knife to pry out the stopper), screw it into the diffuser, flip it over and plug in the wall. You press a button to turn it on. You know it’s on if a little cloud of scent pumps out. The diffuser has two settings. The blue light means it will puff out scent every 10 minutes. The green light signifies every 20 minutes. If you run the Natural MIst every 10 minutes during regular business hours, a 15 ml bottle of essential oil should last 10 days; on 15-minute intervals, 15 days. Most of the oils cost $7.99 each, with price breaks if you buy them in sets or quantities. In addition to all the familiar scents, GuruNanda has some I’ve never heard of, like opoponax and balsam copaiba.

Diffuser vs office

My GuruNanda Natural Mist diffuser has been a pleasant addition to my home office – especially since I share it with a cat and his litter box (I know, my life isn’t all glamor). When I focus on my work I usually forget what’s going around me. So every 10 or 20 minutes, depending, I suddenly think oh, there’s a pleasant scent of oranges in the air. Oh, yeah, it’s my GuruNanda Natural Mist diffuser working hard to make the home office a better smelling place.

I know, this is an unfair competition. Sorry, Natural Mist, not every diffuser gets to live in a yoga studio or spa. Some are doomed to my home office, beside the cat box.

This diffuser is a great value at $16.99 and would make a nifty gift. Since the bottles of oil are well under three ounces, I might even take the Natural Mist with me on the road to sweeten a hotel room. Two thumbs up for the new GuruNanda diffuser!
