Aside from taking the ferry between Vancouver and Vancouver Island, I had no inkling of all that lay between. Until I went on a British Columbia cruise with Maple Leaf Adventures. Turns out, there are scads of forested islands, waterfalls and marine life between the two main land masses.
The posh catamaran Cascadia cruised at a slow pace. We had plenty of time to look for seals, petroglyphs and wildflowers. Twice we got out in kayaks. The chef made me vegan meals that were just as lovely as anybody else’s. It was a relaxing and fun four-night break from my usual city life.
