I love to see “alcohol-free” touted as part of wellness. So I was excited to receive news of the upcoming Touch Grass retreat at Brasada Ranch in Central Oregon. From April 22-27, guests can choose between three and five-day options.

Retreat experiences
The retreat features mindful practices, including guided meditation, restorative yoga and sunrise sound baths. Then there’s hiking at Smith Rock State Park, one of Oregon’s most beautiful places. And you can kayak the Deschutes River.
The equine wellness component is especially intriguing. “Led by Wendy Dietz, this unique, non-riding experience invites participants to engage with horses in an experiential approach to self-discovery,” according to the press release. “Through mindful interaction and observation, guests will gain insights into emotional awareness, communication, and personal growth.” This really bums me out that I have a date conflict and can’t attend the Touch Grass retreat myself. I’ve had a lot of bad experiences riding horses, so I’m all for mindfully interacting with them while staying off their backs.
And then there are relaxing evening activities, like alcohol-free happy hour, s’more toasting and cowboy storytelling.

Brasada Ranch
The ranch is 20 miles south of Bend. And even if you can’t make it to the Touch Grass retreat, it has fun activities year round, including hiking, horseback riding, golf and spa time.
