Sober Sonoma and Napa tours

Why visit wine country if you don’t drink? Because it’s beautiful! Gourmet Food & Wine Tours is offering something special this Dry January. Check out these new sober Sonoma and Napa tours if you want to get an insider’s look at these gorgeous places. While I wouldn’t recommend visiting wine country if you’re newly sober and feeling shaky, those who are secure in their nondrinking will probably have a great time.

Sober Sonoma Escape: Farm-to-Table Brunch & Wellness Hike Tour

The Sonoma Escape tour includes a gourmet brunch with locally-sourced dishes highlighting Sonoma’s seasonal produce and artisanal flavors. Then embark on a guided 1.5 hour, three-mile loop hike through Sonoma’s vineyards. Expect a gently hilly walk. This tour is offered weekly in January.

Taste Napa Tour

Do you prefer more eating and less walking? The Taste Napa: Culinary Institute & Oxbow Market Foodie Tour promises an immersive 2-2.5 hour behind-the-scenes experience. You’ll tour the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in Napa Valley, one of the world’s most prestigious culinary institutions. Then explore the Oxbow Public Market in downtown Napa, sampling a variety of gourmet, non-alcoholic offerings from artisanal food vendors, including fresh sushi, coffee from Ritual Roasters, locally-made ice cream, and more.

Sober Sonoma and Napa wellness break

“We’re excited to expand our offerings to cater to those who want to enjoy Wine Country in a healthier, alcohol-free way,” said Renée ReBell, Founder of Gourmet Food & Wine Tours. “Both of these new tours are designed to highlight the beauty of the region, whether through nature or food, and show that you don’t need alcohol to enjoy a world-class experience.”

This is true for sure. I visited California’s wine country a few years ago and enjoyed hiking through vineyards. Renting a bike and cruising through the back roads was another healthy highlight.
