Last summer, animal lover Corrine Fong took over as executive director of the Singapore Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. She had put in a decade of volunteer work with the organization, starting as a kennel helper. Her professional background is in financial advisory.

During a recent e-interview, Ms. Fong gave me insights into how the citizens of Singapore view human/animal relationships. This is part of the research I’m doing for the upcoming 2012 edition of Vegetarian Asia: A Travel Guide.
