Size Up: Workout clothes for sexy people

When Aris, the marketing head from Michigan-based Size Up Apparel, asked me if I wanted to review some of their products, I wasn’t sure I was sexy enough for the task. The models on the website are crazy sexy, showing lots of skin, ripped muscles, often posing in ways that suggest something other than exercise on the mind. But Aris assured me, “You’re more than sexy enough to wear our clothing.” So I agreed to give it a try.

Can I hang with these sexy people?! I don’t know! Images courtesy of Size Up.

I requested the black reflector joggers in a size medium. I considered sizing up to a large so they wouldn’t look painted on, but went with my regular size. Size Up sent me the pants and also threw in a white crop top.

Despite my reservations, the reflector pants immediately became my favorite thing for exercise. First of all, pockets. And not those bunchy pockets that make hips look even wider. Instead, a convenient zipper pocket on each thigh. This is wonderful for running, as now I’m not stressed about the key falling out of my sports bra and leaving me locked out of my house. Second, the fit.

They stay perfectly in place, unlike some of my exercise pant waistbands that I have to keep adjusting.  Third, the reflective stripes, which add a modicum of safety. And overall, they’re really cute. The only thing I’d change is they show my underwear lines in back a little too much. Oh, and I’d make them in more colors. The reflective joggers only come in black and white. I think Size Up should make them in red, too.

As for the crop top, I’ve yet to wear it in public. It’s cute for folks who like to show off their stomachs. But my middle-aged midriff prefers to play a reclusive, behind-the-scenes role in my overall fitness.
